Appointments to Outside Bodies

Report of the Assistant Chief Executive Legal and Democratic Services

1.0	Purpose of the Report
1.1	To enable appointments to Committees and Outside Bodies to be considered.

2.0       North York Moors National Park Authority

2.1       It is proposed that Councillor David Hugill,recently elected to the Hutton Rudby and Osmotherley Electoral Division, be appointed to the North York Moors National Park Authority (NYMNPA) to fill the existing Conservative vacancy.

2.2       It is known that the NYMNPA have a number of forthcoming decisions that need to be made.  In order that Councillor David Hugill can participate in decision making, it is proposed that the Executive recommend to the Chief Executive that he make the appointment using his emergency powers for the period through the next Full Council meeting on 15 November 2023.  At that meeting, Full Council can then re-consider the appointment to the vacant seat on the NYMNPA.  

3.0	Recommendation
3.1	That the Executive recommend that Councillor David Hugill be appointed to the North York Moors National Park Authority, to fill the existing Conservative vacancy, by the Chief Executive using his emergency powers for the period through to the next meeting of Full Council on 15 November 2023.
